[showhide type=”pressrelease” more_text=”Show Press Release” less_text=”Hide Press Release” hidden=”yes”] Toshiba Ireland announces the launch of the Portégé Z10t, Toshiba’s first detachable Ultrabook™ combining the convenience of a tablet with the functionality of a laptop. Ideally suited to business professionals requiring a powerful but portable device that easily adapts to different usage situations, the Portégé Z10t quickly transforms from an intuitive touchscreen Windows 8 Pro tablet into a traditional full performance laptop in just one click.Designed with performance, mobility, reliability, and durability in mind, the Portégé Z10t features the latest Intel® Core™ processor for Ultrabook™ and a compact, Full HD 29.5cm (11.6”) screen, equally suited to both consuming and creating content.
Convenience and usability
By combining powerful Intel® processors with fast and reliable solid state (SSD) storage technology, the Portégé Z10t can be used to create presentations, work on spreadsheets, or easily perform basic multimedia tasks in both tablet and laptop modes. Additionally, when in tablet mode, the Portégé Z10t can be used as a digital notepad, making it a convenient tool for meetings or seminars. Using an optional DigitizerPen, the Portégé Z10t’s handwriting recognition feature converts written on-screen notes into editable digital documents. Furthermore, users can draw sketches on the tablet screen, accurately tap on a specific area to place the cursor or navigate more precisely through menus.
Wide array of navigation and typing options
For more intensive data input, the device quickly connects to a detachable, full size keyboard. Backlit keys ensure the keyboard can be easily used in low light, while a multi-touch touchpad enables gesture controls such as scrolling, zooming and swiping through documents. An additional Accupoint input also gives users the option of even more precise cursor control. Using the Portégé Z10t tablet features, the fully responsive ten-finger touchscreen assures an intuitive browsing experience, regardless of the task at hand.
Designed for constant use
The thin and ultra-mobile Portégé Z10t has been developed for extensive daily use and tested to meet Toshiba’s high quality and reliability standards. Protected by Toshiba’s EasyGuard suite of protection and security measures, the Portégé Z10t offers peace of mind when working on the move. Data stored on the SSD is far less vulnerable if the device is accidentally dropped, as it does not rely on moving parts. Like many of Toshiba’s professional laptops, the keyboard is also spill resistant¹, giving users time to save any open documents and power down the device in the event of an accidental spillage.
A range of pre-installed advanced security and data management features ensure the Portégé Z10t is kept secure even if it is lost or stolen. Intel® Anti-Theft reduces the risk of unauthorised access, and the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) safeguards locally stored critical data. Intel® vPro™ technology is integrated into the processor to increase security levels, including the ability to disable the device remotely, and allows IT departments to monitor, maintain, repair and upgrade the Portégé Z10t from a central administrative level.
Latest connectivity technologies
Ideal for mobile workers, the Portégé Z10t is packed with advanced connectivity features for speedy data transfer and reliable network access. USB 3.0 ports enable fast data exchange between peripheral devices, while HDMI® and RGB ports make it easy to output to a large screen or projector. Intel® Wireless Display technology also allows users to send documents and multimedia files to a compatible TV set using a Wi-Fi connection, eliminating the need for cables. In addition to Gigabit LAN, the Portégé Z10t also supports the latest high speed wireless technologies, including HSPA and LTE.
