Eircom announced today that their online music service MusicHub is getting axed as it’s “not a core business activity”.

The service allowed users to download or stream any track that was available and was free for Eircom customers.
While the MusicHub service did have millions of songs, the quality and frequency of new additions were criticized by many users since the service launched.

Online streaming and downloading services have become increasingly popular lately, most notably with Spotify and Xbox Music.

Eircom stated that any songs that users have already downloaded will still remain available to them, but playlists won’t.
Any credits that users still have must be used by July 30th and customers won’t be billed after June 30th.
So if you’ve still got credits, get downloading.
