If you’re looking for a fitness tracking device that does more than just tell you how many steps you take, you’re in luck as the Fitbit Flex has now launched in Ireland.
The Fitbit Flex is a thin and light wristband that can track your steps, calories burned and distance walked but what sets it apart is it also tracks your sleep – how many hours slept, times woken up and it vibrates to wake you up without bothering your partner.
It’s also water-resistant and can be used in the shower.
I’ll be using the Fitbit Flex over the next week or so and then giving my full verdict.
Fitbit Flex is available now from Harvey Norman stores and Sam McCauley Chemists for €99.99.

FITBIT LAUNCHES FITBIT FLEX™
Fitbit has just announced the launch of Fitbit Flex™, a slim stylish wristband designed to be with you at all times during your everyday life. Fitbit Flex™ is truly a unique device – during the day, it tracks steps, distance, and calories burned, while at night it tracks your sleep cycle and wakes you up silently in the morning.
Getting started is easy, all you need to do is set your goals, while Flex™ uses LED lights to keep track and monitor your progress. Simply select what you’d like to track, be it steps, calories, or distance – each light will then represent 20% of your goal acting like a scoreboard and challenging you to become more active day after day.
Flex™ never sleeps, even when you do. Continue to wear it all night and it’ll measure your sleep cycle. Your dashboard will reveal how long you slept and the number of times you woke up to help you learn how to sleep more soundly. Flex™ also has a silent wake alarm that gently vibrates to wake you at your desired time, without disturbing your partner. Flex automatically syncs your data to PCs, Macs, iPhone 4S & 5, iPad 3, Retina & mini, iPod Touch, and to select Android phones without plugging in or pushing buttons. This gives you real-time access to your stats on the Fitbit dashboard throughout the day. Also with select NFC-enabled Android devices, you can tap your device to launch your Fitbit stats.
Fitbit FLEX™ is currently available from Harvey Norman and Sam McCauley Chemists from €99.99.
Looks quite similar to the Up band.
