Sony’s latest gaming console if off to a very impressive start if these latest figures are to be believed. Shuhei Yoshida, Sony Playstation’s President of worldwide studios, has just tweeted claiming that the PS4 has sold through 1 million units in it’s first 24 hours of sale in North America and Canada.

This is really impressive when you think that’s only two regions so far and the console has yet to go on sale in the rest of the world, most notably, Europe, being the most successful region for PS3 sales.

This successful launch is not without it’s hiccups though. I very small number of people seem to be having issues with hardware aspects of the console such as the HDMI output on the unit. Sony are said to be working around the clock to resolve these issues but are keen to highlight that these issues are very rare in relation to the total amount of consoles sold.
