PriceSpy launches in Ireland today, with goals to make online shopping easier for consumers and small businesses alike.
From the owners of DoneDeal.ie, PriceSpy compares prices for a lot of consumer products like phones, tablets, garden equipment and almost everything in-between.
PriceSpy says it has “almost 400 Irish online shops” and “thousands of international shopping sites that ship to Ireland”, so you should get the best price. Consumers can also rate each seller so if you get messed around by one seller, rate them to warn others or if you have a great experience with another, you can rate them higher which will no doubt benefit smaller businesses.
One of the coolest features of PriceSpy is the iOS and Android app which is obviously useful for shopping on the go but more importantly allows you to scan the barcodes of items while you’re out and about to see if you could be getting it cheaper online instead.
Lorna Barker, senior marketing manager for PriceSpy in Ireland and the UK said: “We source prices directly from the retailers and update the data several times a day so that we’re listing the most accurate and up to date information possible. What is most important is that our listings are presented in a ‘lowest price first’ order.
Perhaps the best news is that the prices will be fair, explained by Barker. “With PriceSpy there is no way for retailers to ‘pay their way’ to the top of our listings, so our users can be 100% confident we are providing them with the fairest price comparisons available at all times.”
