This week on ‘The Sunday Effect’ we have the new Star Wars trailer. If you haven’t seen it yet, get on it! It’s fantastic. We also have a review for Samsung’s latest camera (it’s a good’un) and the trailer for the new Batman: Arkham Knight game (which looks ace!). We also have a great free app for you this week, great if you spent a little too much in the Black Friday sales (like I did). Check it out!

This week’s big stories:

TRAILER: Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens

Enough said.

WATCH: Batman: Arkham Knight – Gameplay Trailer

Rocksteady Studios have just released a brand new trailer for next year’s Batman: Arkham Knight and boy does it look good. In the trailer, we learn that Scarecrow has taken over ACE Chemicals in Gotham city and Batman is on a mission to take it back. We see some serious moves from the dark knight himself and the Batmobile isn’t a slouch in the moves department either, sliding around effortlessly like some sort of possessed black tank.

REVIEW: Samsung NX 3000 Camera

2014-11-25 20.11.55

Samsung really have upped their game in the point and shoot arena. Sony, Canon, Nikon and countless others challenged them for years but Samsung’s answer, the ‘NX 3000′ really is a call to arms. The NX 3000 mixes great specs, interchangeable lenses, retro styling and great connectivity at an affordable price. As a budding photographer myself, this is a perfect introduction and tool to begin with.

In short: This is the best camera you can buy under €350.

NEWS: PlayStation Plus’ December Line-Up Announced

Sony have a Christmas present in store for us this time with a bumper PlayStation Plus line up for December featuring our first AAA game! Even though there are the usual 6 games in total (2 each for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita) the quality this month is quite something.

Free App of the week:

RETRY

maxresdefault

Retry is a pretty unexpected game from Rovio but it makes complete sense. It’s a flight game, it has one button, your goal is just to edge your plane to the end of the level and not ‘retry’. You can unlock bases in each level to save your progress but these cost coins (or 15 seconds of ads) and it brings in a neat risk/reward system. With perfect retro graphics, addictive and quick gameplay and a ton of levels. For the price of free, this is great.

Download – iPhone, Android
