It’s been a surprisingly big week on The Effect than we would have thought given it’s December. PlayStation turned 20 and we got some big birthday presents from Sony and EA. Ubisoft’s present got unwrapped a little early and we had a look at Unity in our review. Check our this week’s ‘The Sunday Effect’.

So were in an age of gaming we’re it’s beginning to look like the ‘go hard or go home’ mantra is becoming the predominate theme and with Assassin’s Creed Unity from Ubisoft, they definitely pulled out all the stops to not only show what their Anvil graphics engine can do but what these new pieces of gaming hardware can really do. Did they bite off more than they can chew though and is Assassin’s Creed Unity too flawed for its own good? Click here to find out.

Right this second, PlayStation Experience is happening in Las Vegas which is celebrating twenty years of PlayStation. There will be tons of games announced and shown during the conference but EA decided to do a little ‘Late-Late’ style giveaway mid-keynote. This time, it’s not just one for everyone in the audience. It’s not even just one for every PlayStation owner.

Electronic Arts are giving away three games, one for PS4, one for PS3 and one for PS Vita and they’re quite good! Check out what you can download today for free here!

Assassin’s Creed: Victory – Leaked

Assassin's Creed: Victory

It’s been a tough few weeks for Ubisoft with a lot of negative press around Assassin’s Creed: Unity and it’s glitches. However, much earlier than any of us expected, we have a look at the next Assassin’s Creed game codenamed ‘Victory’. Find out more in our story.

Crossy Road is a retro-styled ‘Cross-em-up’. Think Frogger but up to date. Theres not much more to it than that but it features not a lot of in-app purchases, it’s great fun for those 30 second gaming breaks and has a cast of character’s including (weirdly) PewDiePie’s dog.
