Onto our last part of our 2014 Rewind series. It’s been a fantastic year on TheEffect and we’ve certainly been busy in Q4 with tons of games and tech to review. We even saw a new console in the form of PlayStation’s 20th Anniversary and we got two new shiny Nexus devices. Let’s get cracking.

Assassin’s Creed Unity

gaming-assassins-creed-unity-06Ubisoft’s latest entry in the Assassin’s Creed entry arrived in November to mixed reviews but we thought it was pretty great. It’s a promising start for next-gen AC and we’re looking forward to where it heads next. Check out our review for more.

Sony Xperia Z3

Xperia_Z3The Sony Xperia Z3 landed with it’s smaller cousin and we took a look at it back in October. It’s a very solid handset with PS4 remote play and of course being waterproof being the standout highlights. Check out our review here.

Far Cry 4

Far Cry 4 burst onto our screens in November and if you loved Far Cry 3, you’ll find yourself at home in it’s sequel. Check out our review to find out what we thought.

Sunset Overdrive

sunset_overdrive_review_theeffect6Sunset Overdrive landed in October and it’s the spiritual successor to Ratchet and Clank we think with a bit of Jet Set Radio thrown in to boot. It’s a hoot to play and it’s a perfect break from the darker games we had this year. Check out our review to find out more.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection

343 Industries wet our appetite for Halo 5 by revisiting every Halo (bar ODST) in the best collection we’ve seen. With spectacular updates for Halo 2 and bringing each games multiplayer to Xbox One, it’s the best jumping on point you could hope for. Check out our review for more.

It was an incredibly busy time for reviews, check out some more below!
