Dell has unveiled the “smallest 13-inch laptop on the planet”, the newest version of its popular XPS 13 Ultrabook.
The screen size is 13 inches but the laptop itself is only 11 inches wide, due to an insanely thin bezel that Dell is calling “infinity display”. The resolution of the screen begins at 1920 x 1080 for the base model or an UltraSharp QHD+ 3200 x 1800 touch screen version.
Comparing it to the MacBook Air (13), Dell says the XPS 13 is “23% smaller with the same size screen.
The XPS 13 is also quite light at 2.6 pounds (1.18kg) and comes with fifth generation Intel Core processors from i3 to i7, 4 or 8GB RAM, a solid state drive and according to Dell, a 15 hour battery life.
The new Dell XPS 13 goes on sale in the US today, starting at $799. No word on Irish release or pricing just yet.
“The screen size is 13 inches but the laptop itself is only 11 inches wide” – surely some mistake?
Actually, you can remove that comment – I presume it means the screen is measured diagonally while the chassis is horizontally.
