WhatsApp is now available to use on desktop via your web browser of choice, the company announced today.

All you have to do is go to web.whatsapp.com and scan a QR code with your WhatsApp App on your phone. This is an odd way to register but because WhatsApp uses your phone number and SMS verifications to prove who you are, it makes sense.

It works with all mobile platforms like Android, Windows Phone, even Blackberry, but not iOS.

“Unfortunately for now, we will not be able to provide web client to our iOS users due to Apple platform limitations” says the official blog post – me-ow.

Messages sync across the web app and your phone, so in theory you’ll always be up to date on all of your conversations.
