Google have announced that Google Play Newsstand Magazines and Subscriptions are coming to Ireland. Google Play Newsstand enters a hotly contested area with apps like Flipboard, HTC’s Blinkfeed and more competing to serve you the news the best they can.
Now, you can find not only internet feeds such as Joe.ie and our handsome selves but you can also get subscriptions to magazines such as Wired, T3 and Mac Life and full newspapers such as the Irish Examiner from within the Google Play Store on your phone, tablet or desktop. For those of you still struggling to find a good RSS reader, this might be the source for you.
Google had this to say on Irish magazines and newspaper subscriptions coming to Google Play Newsstand:
Newsstand brings together your favourite magazines, national news services and blogs in one seamless experience. Newsstand puts the news you care about most front and centre and presents stories that interest you based on your tastes. The more you read the better it will get. You can subscribe to magazines, news services, blogs and news sites and we’ll format and optimise them all for reading on your tablet or phone. With the swipe of a finger, you can browse full length articles, with beautiful images, audio and video right inside the app. You can access these articles even when you’re offline or bookmark them to read later.
It offers thousands of full-length publications (free and paid) that you can subscribe to or follow, Some of these include:
- Newspaper subscriptions: Full-length content from some of Ireland’s biggest news services including the Irish Examiner;
- Magazines: Hundreds of magazines including international magazines like Wired, Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan in all their vibrant, high definition glory;
- News sites: Leading news sites like RTE, Breaking News.ie, Newstalk and TheJournal.ie,
You can download the Google Play Newsstand app for your Android phone or tablet from Google Play. No matter your interests, there’s something for everyone in Newsstand.
