Amazon has just taken the wraps off Echo Show, a WiFi-enabled home device with a 7″ screen that is the latest addition to its Alexa-powered Echo range of home hubs from Amazon that plays media and responds to voice commands.

If you’re already aware of the previous versions of Echo, you’ll know that those devices are all about voice recognition. The new Echo Show ups the game with the inclusion of a 7″ touchscreen for taking and making video calls with friends and family along with watching YouTube videos for example.

The device will come in 2 colours, black and white, but unfortunately, will only be available in the US starting this June, starting at $229.99.

One of the more interesting features of this new device is Amazon’s venture into the communications market with Amazon Calling which will allow you to call other Echo device owners you know.

So what do you think of the new device? Let us know in the comments below.
