Sony Mobile has just unveiled the new Xperia XA2 and Xperia L2 mid-range smartphones at CES 2018 in Las Vegas. First out of the gate in 2018 with new smartphones, these new offerings aren’t going to be competing with the likes of Samsung’s or Apple’s mightiest but the still have some nice features in their own right, below is a quick rundown of what each handset has to offer.
Sony Xperia XA2
The new Xperia XA2 come with Sony’s impressive 23MP rear camera that includes a large 1/2.3” ‘Exmor RS for mobile’ image sensor. It ‘s also capable of 4K movie recording and 120fps slow motion video capture. Around the front, there’s a 120° super wide-angle 8MP camera for all your selfie needs.
The 5.2” Full HD display is said to be brighter, sharper and more colourful than its predecessor with a reduced border and Corning Gorilla Glass. Under the hood is a 3300mAh battery and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630 processor along with ‘Sony Smart Charging technologies which includes Smart Stamina, Battery Care and Qnovo Adaptice Charging.
The Xperia XA2 will be available in Ireland in the coming weeks from network operators in Silver and Black. Blue and Pink will be available from https://www.sonymobile.com/ie.
Sony Xperia L2
The Xperia L2 comes with an large 5.5” HD screen and a 3300mAh under the hood as well. Up front, you’ll find the same 120 degree super wide-angle 8MP selfie camera with a 13MP F2.0 shooter round the back.
Both phones come with rear-mounted fingerprint sensors and continue the design cues found in the predecessors such as the slab-like design.
The Xperia L2 will be available in Ireland from network operators in mid-February. Once we have more info on pricing and exact availability, we’ll be sure to update this article.
