Eir has just announced a brand new offer, in partnership with Amazon and their Prime Video service. The offer states that all eir TV customers will automatically gain access to Amazon Prime Video as part of their package. This can be seen as a direct response to Sky’s partnering with Netflix last year and, to double-down on their new partnership, eir is also offering both new and existing broadband customers 12 months of Amazon Prime Video membership for free.
For those of you not aware, Amazon Prime Video is Amazon’s version of Netflix with some pretty impressive original content along with access to a wide range of movies, TV shows and kids programming. With this new offer from eir, customers will be able to use their new Prime Video membership on practically any device.
The small print of the release states “new and existing eir broadband customers can get access to 12 months Amazon Prime Video courtesy of eir on all broadband plans whilst new and existing eir TV customers can get Amazon Prime Video for the duration of their service on TV plans from €14.99 per month for 6 months / €19.99 thereafter.”
If you’re watching on a compatible device, you’ll also be able to check out Prime Video’s growing catalogue of 4K Ultra HD, HDR content.
Today’s announcement follows on from last month’s eir TV announcement which say eir teaming up with Apple to use their Apple TV 4K device as their new eir TV set top box.
