48 Launches new 'Best in Market' SIM-Only Plan for €7.99/Month
The market for SIM-only mobile plans has just gotten even more competitive with the launch of 48, Three Ireland’s youth-focused offering, new €7.99/Month plan, one of the cheapest offers we’ve ever seen come to market.
The new membership plan, which is available to all new customers who sign up, includes 100GB of data, all calls and test as well as 10GB of roaming data is definitely generous given its extremely low price point. Now, when it comes to ‘All Calls’ and ‘All Texts’ it’s always good to check the ‘Fair Usage Policy’ (FUP) and 48 states that their fair use threshold is currently set at 3,000 minutes and 5,000 text messages for every monthly period.
Also, unlike GoMo’s €9.99 introductory launch plan last year, which was only available to the first 100,000 customers that signed up, there’s no limit on the number of new customers who can avail of the new membership plan who sign up before 10th November 2020.
New customers that do decide to sign up can also play around with 48’s quirky flexi-data features that are a first for any mobile network in Ireland. 48 customers can ‘Carry’, ‘Save’, ‘Share’, ‘Swap’ and ‘Donate’ their data each month (more info on each of these terms here) meaning they can shift their plan and data around to suit how they use it each month.
Speaking about the new membership plan, Eilis Fitzgerald, Marketing Manager, 48 said; “We revamped our plans earlier this year with the intention of changing up mobile. We wanted to co-create a mobile network alongside our customers that truly works for them. We listened, listened again and then listened some more. We believe that we have created a membership plan that delivers the goods; loads of data, unlimited minutes and text with the flexibility to use it how they want to. All for only €7.99.”
If you’re interested, new customers can visit 48.ie or download the My48 app, fill in their details to receive their new SIM through An Post to any address in Ireland.
One thing to note, given its incredibly low price, the 48 Network doesn’t have any physical stores you can walk into if you have any issues with your plan but you should be able to contact their customer support channels via the app, their website or through social channels like their official Twitter account.
