Huawei has just unveiled their brand new FreeBuds Pro 2 true wireless bluetooth earphones at a press event in Berlin. The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 are equipped with  11mm driver units with a frequency response range of 14Hz-40kHz. They supports Bluetooth 5.2 and LDAC, AAC and SBC decoding, and are equipped with three microphones per earbud. In terms of sound quality, Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 are jointly designed and tuned by Devialet, and have passed the dual certification of HWA and Hi-Res Wireless, with audio transmission up to 990kb/s. In addition, the earbuds have waterproof and dustproof certification, and meet the IP54 standard.

Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 | TheEffect.NetThe new earbuds support a noise cancellation depth of up to 47dB, up from the 40dB depth of their predecessors, they also support 3 different ANC modes: General, Cozy and Ultra along with a ‘Dynamic’ mode which automatically adjusts the level of ANC, based on your surroundings. They’ve also included an Awareness mode that’s handy for those that want hear what’s going on around them when out and about. As a Huawei product, Freebuds Pro 2 fully supports the HarmonyOS system and Huawei’s smart ecosystem.

The FreeBuds Pro 2 support Huawei’s new Pure Voice call noise cancellation technology which is said to enable clear, quiet calls. It’s based on a 4-Mic Call Noise Cancellation system, combined with a Huawei-exclusive deep neural network (DNN) noise cancellation algorithm. This means the earbuds should be able to accurately pick up human voices while improving noise cancellation.

Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 | TheEffect.NetEquipped with ‘Triple Adaptive EQ’ technology, the FreeBuds Pro 2 can automatically tune audio according to ear canal structure, earbud position and volume, delivering personalised sound in real time.

There are also software upgrades as Huawei’s AI Life app now offers users a graphic EQ with no less than 10 frequency bands so you can really fine tune the sound to your liking. If that sounds a bit too in depth, then Adaptive EQ aims to tweak the sound for you to provide consistent sound at different volume levels.

In terms of battery life, they can last for 4 hours with noise cancellation turned on, and 6.5 hours with ANC turned off. When used with charging case, the total battery life is 30 hours. Speaking of which, the case also supports wireless charging.
