Anker is back with a bunch of new products all designed to make charging your devices easier, faster and more convenient. We absolutely loved Anker’s last few iPhone-compatible MagSafe products so let’s check them out!

Anker 633 Magnetic Wireless Charger (MagGo)

Hands down. Potentially my favourite gadget of 2022 so far. This thing is something I’m frankly surprised Apple hasn’t made yet. The Anker 633 combines a few things into one package:

  • A dock for your MagSafe compatible iPhone that holds it up in mid-air (that’s adjustable!)
  • A second charger on the bottom for your Airpods
  • A portable battery bank that’s always recharged

Anker 633 Magnetic Wireless Charger (MagGo) | TheEffect.NetThe genius of the Anker 633 is that if you’re working away at your desk and running low on power? Just slide the charger up and now you have a portable battery bank magnetised to your iPhone that charges it while you’re having lunch or even just a handy top-up while you’re on the go. Because the battery bank lives in its dock, it’s always charged too (and it has a USB-C port if you want to charge it manually or another device from it). Anker even throws in a charging brick and a cable into the box too. It’s not perfect, battery wise it’s not going to fully charge most larger iPhones fully but it’ll get close. It’s about on-par with my official Apple MagSafe battery bank but the entire package also cost about the same too. This thing is really competitively at around €110 and a must-have for anyone’s office. Still, if you’re looking for a decent desk (or even bedside charger), the Anker 623 charger we reviewed recently is a cheaper option if you want to save €40!

Anker 726 Charger (Nano II 65W)

Looking for a really good charger for travelling, returning to the office or even just around the house? This might be the one you’re after. The Anker 726 features ‘GaN’ technology, something you’ll see popping up in a lot more chargers over the coming years. Essentially, this helps drive a lot more power when charing in a much smaller size.

Anker 726 Charger | TheEffect.NetIf you have a Macbook charger, you know just how chunky they can be and this is so much smaller without sacrificing any power but also getting 2 USB-C ports. Now, if you’re that rare person that owns two Macbooks, don’t expect to charge using both ports both at the full speed. That 65 watts of power is distributed across both ports if you’re charging but it does a good job at that. The only knock I’ll give this is I’d love to see adaptors like older Anker chargers I’ve owned for different types of plugs globally. Anker sent us a EU plug which means I didn’t get to test it as much as we’d like but rest assured, ordering from Anker.co.uk will get you a UK plug! Definitely something to bear in mind if you’re ordering Anker products with a plug off Amazon.de versus Anker’s UK direct site.

Anker 633 Magnetic Battery (MagGo)

While Anker sent us the 633 Magnetic Wireless Charger and the 735 Charger to review, I’ve become such a fan of their MagGo line while travelling I spotted this nifty device and picked it up. Think of the Anker 622 MagGo wireless charger we reviewed recently, but with all of the downsides fixed:

  • Capacity? Doubled to 10,000 MAH, meaning you will charge even the biggest of phone batteries fully with this thing
  • Pass-through charging? You got it, you’ll be able to use one USB-C cable (supplied!) to charge both your iPhone and your battery bank while attached
  • Need to charge another device? There’s also a USB-A port and you can use the USB-C port too to charge other devices.
  • The magnet feels a lot stronger too.

Anker 633 Magnetic Battery (MagGo) | TheEffect.NetI will say, it’s a big-un. You will probably struggle to fit your iPhone in your jeans with this on so this lives in my tech pouch but that’s really my only critique about the device which is competitively priced at $79.99 where I bought it, but it’s priced at €79.99 over on Amazon.de

So that’s it for Anker’s latest range of products. Honestly? Anker is killing it and as you can see, have me hooked on their clever solutions for iPhone and Magsafe products. Keep em’ coming!
