When it comes to folding/flipping smartphones, in Europe, you only really have one choice and that’s Samsung’s Fold and Flip line of handsets. Well, that’s about to change, with Chinese manufacturer, OPPO, about to launch their Find n2 Flip in Ireland, and other European markets also.
The new Find N2 Flip packs a larger external display than Samsung’s own Flip4 device and also supports fast charging and an impressive ‘Flexion’ hinge design, which should help keep the inner display’s crease visibility to a minimum. With the large external vertical display, OPPO also promises better functionality and practical uses for things like taking Selfies, using the devices external camera sensors.
They’ve also included the largest battery in a ‘flippable’ device to date (4300mAh) and, as previously mentioned, OPPO’s proprietary SuperVOOC fast charging tech will allow users to top the device up faster. The brand’s partnership with famous photography company, Hasselblad, is also being utilised in the two external cameras on the device so photos and videos should be up impressive as well.
The whole thing is powered by the MediaTek 9000+ processors which has been seen to hold its own when compared to Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon chipsets.
“Our research into foldable smartphones began in early 2018, and in 2021 we surprised and delighted our customers with the launch of our first foldable phone, the Find N, which offered an almost invisible crease and OPPO’s advanced Flexion Hinge,” said Pete Lau, SVP and chief product officer at OPPO. “With the Find N2 Flip we take foldables from the fringes to the forefront in a compact, sleek, awesome way, and we’re now ready to share this new benchmark with the world.”
