Sky Glass Gen 2 & Sky Glass Air | TheEffect.NetSky Glass Gen 2: Key Updates

The most significant changes to the Sky Glass Gen 2 include a brighter 4K Quantum Dot display with advanced HDR and precision contrast enhancement. The display is now said to offer better contrast with deeper darks and brighter highlights. This improvement is paired with a wider viewing angle, ensuring the picture remains accurate across different seating positions. Picture modes like “Vivid” and “Sport” have been updated for better performance across various content types.

The audio has also been upgraded with a seven-speaker Dolby Atmos® sound system, which includes an integrated soundbar and dual subwoofers. Sky claims this will deliver a more immersive audio experience, with clearer vocals and enhanced bass. The system is designed to eliminate the need for an external soundbar, simplifying the setup.

Sky Glass Gen 2 is available in three sizes—43”, 55”, and 65”—and three colours: Volcanic Grey, Arctic Silver, and Atlantic Blue. The TV runs on Sky OS, which offers personalised recommendations based on viewing habits and includes features like Playlists for saving favourite content.

For new customers, Sky has introduced an Essential TV pack for €18 per month, which includes over 100 channels. A higher-tier Sky Ultimate TV package, priced at €25 per month, offers more channels including Sky Max, Sky Comedy, and Sky Documentaries.

Sky Glass Air: The Budget Option

Alongside the Gen 2 model, Sky has announced the upcoming Sky Glass Air, which will launch later this year. The Sky Glass Air is positioned as a more affordable alternative to the Gen 2, removing the built-in soundbar and instead featuring Dolby Audio Stereo speakers.
