Xiaomi has officially unveiled its latest flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and Xiaomi 15, at a global launch event in Barcelona ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025. These new devices continue Xiaomi’s push into the premium smartphone market, featuring high-end camera systems, cutting-edge processors, and fast-charging capabilities.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra Key Specs & Features
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is positioned as the brand’s top-tier device, featuring a Leica quad-camera system that spans a focal range of 14mm to 200mm. The main camera is a 50MP 1-inch sensor with an f/1.63 aperture, supported by variable focal lengths of 23mm, 28mm, and 35mm.
A standout addition is the 200MP periscope telephoto camera with a 100mm focal length, offering extreme zoom capabilities and 136% more light capture compared to its predecessor. The device also includes a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 115° field of view and a 50MP floating telephoto camera with a 70mm focal length.
Videographers will benefit from 8K recording at 30fps, 4K recording at up to 120fps, and Dolby Vision support at 4K 60fps across all focal lengths. The device also features 10-bit Log video recording, an ACES Product Partner certification for colour grading, and a 4-mic array for high-quality directional audio capture.
An ultra image stabilisation system combines optical and electronic stabilisation to reduce shake in handheld video shooting.
The 6.73″ WQHD+ AMOLED display delivers a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3,200 nits. It supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. The display also features an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor which should result in faster fingerprint unlocking.
Powering the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2 and features the latest HyperAI suite, including AI-assisted writing, speech recognition, and image enhancements. It support Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and dual SIM support with eSIM compatibility.
A 5,410mAh battery supports 90W wired charging and 80W wireless charging. The phone also includes Xiaomi Shield Glass 2.0 for improved durability, a high-strength aluminium frame, and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The device is available in Black, White, and Silver Chrome colour options, with this particular colour option (as seen above) mimicking the retro design aesthetic of old Leica cameras
. Xiaomi has also introduced the Xiaomi 15 Ultra Photography Kit Legend Edition, featuring a 2,000mAh external battery, a customizable UI, and a multi-function 67mm filter adapter ring for easier photography control.
