OnePlus has officially launched the OnePlus Pad 3, its latest flagship Android tablet. Set to go on sale on 19th June, the Pad 3 aims to be one of the best high-end Android tablets in 2025, with a focus on performance, display quality, and AI-powered productivity tools.

With pre-orders opening on 5th June at 08:05AM BST, the tablet arrives in two variants: a 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model priced at €599 and a 16GB RAM + 512GB version at €699 in Ireland. The device will be available in Storm Blue via OnePlus.com.

At the core of the OnePlus Pad 3 is Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite chipset — currently one of the most powerful mobile processors available. It’s supported by up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage, with a vapour chamber cooling system that uses a graphene composite to keep thermals under control during intensive tasks like gaming or video editing.

The tablet houses a 12,140mAh battery, which OnePlus claims can deliver up to 6 hours of AAA gaming, more than 15 hours of short video playback, and over 17 hours of long video playback. On standby, the Pad 3 can last up to 70 days. Charging is handled by an 80W SUPERVOOC fast charger — just 10 minutes plugged in provides an additional 18% charge.

Display & Design

The OnePlus Pad 3 features a 13.2″ display with a 3.4K resolution, 12-bit colour, and a 315 PPI pixel density. The unique 7:5 aspect ratio has been retained from the previous generation, designed to improve productivity by offering more vertical space for documents, multitasking, and split-screen use.

Measuring less than 6mm thick, the tablet maintains a lightweight, all-metal unibody design that OnePlus claims is both durable and comfortable to hold. The camera module has been relocated from the centre to the corner, marking a subtle redesign. Audio gets a boost from eight symmetrically placed speakers — four woofers and four tweeters — aimed at delivering impressively loud audio.

Software and AI Features

The Pad 3 runs on OxygenOS 15, OnePlus’s latest OS version. It brings AI-focused tools such as AI Writer and AI Summarise for document editing, alongside creative functions including enhanced photo customisation. Integration with Google’s AI features like Gemini and Circle to Search also make their way to the new tablet, which was to be expected from a new Android device in 2025.

This update includes enhanced drag-and-drop functionality and smart app pairing. For instance, if you frequently switch between messaging apps and maps when organising plans, the Pad 3 can now suggest split-screen configurations automatically.

Accessories: Keyboard, Stylus and Case

OnePlus is also introducing new accessories to go with the Pad 3, each sold separately.

The updated OnePlus Smart Keyboard (€169) features larger, spaced-out keycaps and a set of command keys designed to emulate the feel of a full-sized PC keyboard. It includes a dedicated AI button and supports adjustable viewing angles from 110 to 165 degrees. The keyboard connects magnetically and supports NFC for quick pairing and data transfer.

OnePlus Pad 3 Keyboard | TheEffect.NetThe OnePlus Stylo 2 (€99) is a pressure-sensitive stylus recognising up to 16,000 levels of pressure. It includes new gesture functionality — users can annotate screenshots with a quick swipe in the corner of the display or access a shorthand note page with a tap on the screen when the tablet is locked.

OnePlus Pad 3 Folio Case | TheEffect.NetThe new folio case (€59) has been redesigned with a tri-fold system offering a variety of viewing angles — 20, 44, 60, and 72 degrees — and includes a magnetic clasp to secure the stylus when not in use. The case automatically wakes and sleeps the tablet as it’s opened and closed.

OnePlus Pad 3 Pricing & Availability

The OnePlus Pad 3 will be available via OnePlus.com for €599 (12+256GB) and €699 (16+512GB).  The Stylo 2 will be available for €99,  the new OnePlus Pad 3 Smart Keyboard will be available for €169 and the folio case will cost €59. Pre-orders open at 08:05AM on June 5th with the on-sale date following at 09:00AM on June 19th.

The OnePlus Pad 3 enters an increasingly competitive Android tablet market but has a good chance of standing out thanks to its combination of high-end hardware, long battery life, and emphasis on productivity.

While OnePlus is clearly targeting professionals and power users, the inclusion of AI tools and advanced accessories also makes it suitable for students and creatives.
