HONOR has officially revealed the hardware specifications for its next-generation foldable, the HONOR Magic V5, in conjunction with a dedicated launch event for the Chinese market in Shenzhen. The Magic V5 continues the brand’s focus on slim, durable foldable designs with flagship-level performance, camera hardware and display technology. Ireland & UK specific availability details are expected later this summer, but the hardware configuration has now been confirmed.
Design & Durability
The Magic V5 follows HONOR’s tradition of ultra-slim foldables. When unfolded, the device measures just 4.1mm, and 8.8mm when folded – making it one of the thinnest large-format foldables on the market. Despite its thin profile, the Magic V5 carries IP58 and IP59 certifications, offering protection against dust and water ingress.
Display
The inner folding screen measures 7.95″ and uses a flexible 120hz OLED LTPO panel. The display supports 1.07 billion colours, 100% DCI-P3 wide colour gamut, and reaches a peak brightness of up to 5000 nits. Resolution stands at 2352 x 2172 pixels, with a pixel density of 403 PPI.
The inner screen includes stylus support, and is protected by HONOR’s Super Armoured Inner Screen technology.
Processor & Battery Life
The Magic V5 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite and is paired with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.
Battery life is supported by a 5820mAh cell, which should deliver all-day performance even under heavy multitasking or media use. Charging speeds and wireless charging capabilities have not yet been disclosed, but are expected to match or exceed the previous generation.
Camera System
The Magic V5 features a triple-lens rear camera system, with a main 50MP wide-angle sensor (f/1.6) with OIS. It’s joined by a 64MP periscope telephoto lens (f/2.5), also with OIS, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera (f/2.0).
On the front, both the inner and outer screens have their own 20MP wide-angle selfie cameras (f/2.2).
With these confirmed specifications, the HONOR Magic V5 shapes up as a serious contender in the foldable space, offering cutting-edge display tech, flagship internals, a high-capacity battery and a strong camera setup. While the launch event focused on the Chinese variant, Irish availability and pricing details are expected to follow in the coming weeks.
