Google has officially taken the wraps off its next-generation Pixel hardware, headlined by the new Pixel 10 smartphone series, a redesigned Pixel Watch 4, and upgraded Pixel Buds 2a earbuds. The launch also showcased deeper integration with Google’s AI ecosystem, powered by the new Tensor G5 chip. Below is a breakdown of all the key specs, features and updates for each of the new devices.
Pixel 10 Line-up
Pixel 10
The standard Pixel 10 continues Google’s focus on practical design, performance and imaging. It features a refreshed sculpted chassis with a satin metal finish, available in Frost, Obsidian, Lemongrass, and a nostalgic return to Indigo.
Camera hardware sees a notable upgrade, with a new 5x telephoto lens offering 10x optical-quality zoom and up to 20x with Super Res Zoom. The phone includes Google’s brightest screen yet at 3000 nits, and audio quality has also been improved with enhanced bass output.
Powered by the new Tensor G5 and 12GB RAM, the device includes a 30-hour battery and supports both fast wired charging (55% in 30 minutes) and next-gen wireless charging via Qi2, the first Android manufacturer to support this wireless charging protocol and something which might sway a lot of the Apple fans to make the jump to Android.
Pixel 10 Pro & Pixel 10 Pro XL
For users wanting a more premium experience, the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL step things up across the board. Both come with Google’s most advanced camera system to date, featuring a 50MP main sensor with double-range OIS, a 48MP telephoto lens with 100x Pro Zoom, and a 42MP ultra-wide selfie camera.
The Pro XL in particular also features upgraded stereo speakers with more powerful bass. Both models house 16GB of RAM, the Tensor G5 chip, and larger batteries which should result in 30+ hours of life with fast charging: 55% in 30 mins on the Pro, and 70% in 30 mins on the Pro XL with a 45W charger. Qi2.2 wireless charging is also supported, allowing for wireless charging speeds of up to 25w.
Design-wise, the devices sport four colours: Obsidian, Porcelain, Moonstone, and Jade, with displays that are 10% brighter while using less power.
Pixel 10 Pro Fold
Google’s foldable line also gets a major refresh. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold introduces a gearless hinge, resulting in a thinner profile, reduced bezels and improved durability. It’s also IP68 rated, a first for Google’s foldables.
Both displays are brighter this year with the 6.4″ outer display and the 8″ inner ‘Super Actua Flex’ display topping out at 3000 nits. Inside is the Tensor G5, 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB storage. Battery capacity has increased to 5,015mAh, the largest yet in a Pixel foldable.
Camera-wise, the Fold sports a new triple-lens array including a 48MP main sensor, ultra-wide and telephoto options, and support for up to 20x Super Res Zoom. Software features include multitasking upgrades, flexible split-screen controls, and an Instant View mode to preview photos you’ve taken without leaving the camera app.
Gemini, Magic View & Camera Enhancements
As expected, at the heart of this year’s Pixel experience is Gemini, Google’s generative AI model, now embedded across all Pixel 10 devices. This includes Gemini Nano for on-device tasks and Gemini Live, which sees improvements in real-time voice interaction and visual overlay capabilities.
Magic View surfaces helps out by pulling up proactive suggestions based on context, such as replying to messages, navigating to appointments, or previewing weather info, without prompting. Camera-wise, the new Camera Coach guides users in framing, composition and shot setup, using generative AI for real-time feedback.
Other AI-powered camera features include:
Auto Best Take: picks the best expressions from up to 150 images for group shots
Guided Frame: provides scene descriptions and framing assistance for low-vision users
Ask Photos: enables natural language photo edits
Pro Zoom: 100x enhanced zoom using generative AI (exclusive to Pro and Pro XL)
Pixel Watch 4
The Pixel Watch 4 sees the most significant overhaul yet in Google’s smartwatch line-up. It introduces a ‘first-of-its-kind’ domed display called Actua 360, offering 10% more screen area, 16% smaller bezels and 3000 nits of peak brightness. The hardware is more durable with Gorilla Glass, aerospace-grade aluminium, and IP68 certification.
Under the hood is the Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 platform paired with a new low-power co-processor. Combined with Wear OS 6, the result is up to 25% longer battery life — 30 hours for the 41mm model and 40 hours for the 45mm. A new charging dock supports 50% charge in under 15 minutes.
For health and fitness, Pixel Watch 4 introduces:
AI-powered activity recognition
Dual-frequency GPS
Most accurate sleep tracking to date
Emergency satellite connectivity (LTE model only, US-only for now)
The new Personal AI Coach (launching in October in the US) works through the Fitbit app to deliver personalised health insights and fitness plans.
Pixel Buds 2a
The new Pixel Buds 2a bring several high-end features to a more accessible price point. These are the smallest, lightest buds in the Pixel line-up and include a redesigned stabiliser for improved fit, IP54 water resistance, and a more compact case.
Tensor A1 chip for enhanced audio processing
Active Noise Cancellation (first in an A-series Bud)
Custom 11mm speaker drivers and a new high-frequency chamber
5-band EQ in the app
7 hours playback (20 with case) and hands-free Gemini support
Multipoint pairing, Find My Device, and repairable case design
Colour options include Iris and Hazel. Google is also adding new software features to Pixel Buds Pro 2, including adaptive audio and gesture-based Gemini interactions, with a new Moonstone colour variant launching alongside.
