Dell Technologies has entered the professional audio market with the launch of its first-ever earbuds, the Dell Pro Plus Earbuds. The company says the new device is designed specifically for the hybrid workplace, combining enterprise-grade audio features with IT-focused management tools. The earbuds are available now in Ireland and across the EMEA region.

Features

The Dell Pro Plus Earbuds are the world’s first earbuds to achieve Microsoft Teams Open Office Certification. This means they meet Microsoft’s highest standards for audio clarity and background noise suppression in busy environments such as open-plan offices or shared spaces. They are also certified for Zoom.

By launching the earbuds with these certifications, Dell is targeting a gap in the market where consumer-grade earbuds often fall short in professional set ups. Poor microphone quality or insufficient background noise filtering can impact productivity and ability to hear people on virtual meeting when you’re in hybrid and remote working setups. These certifications are intended to ensure reliable online calls.

The Pro Plus Earbuds use AI-based audio processing to improve call quality and clarity. The integrated microphone system is trained on over 500 million noise samples, allowing it to distinguish human voices from background sounds. This noise-cancelling technology aims to reduce interruptions from environmental noise, if you’re commute, at home, or in an office.

The earbuds also feature adaptive active noise cancellation (ANC) for listening, alongside an enhanced transparency mode that allows users to remain aware of their surroundings when required.

Design

Dell has placed emphasis on comfort and fit, offering four ear tip sizes (XS, S, M, L) to suit a wide range of users. Connectivity is supported by Bluetooth 5.3, with multi-host pairing allowing users to switch between devices, which should almost be mandatory on all new professional earbuds, in our opinion. Dell’s Pair feature is included to  help with setup and transition between devices,.

The charging case also includes a Dell Wireless USB-C Audio Receiver. This provides additional flexibility for those who prefer a stable wireless connection without relying solely on Bluetooth.

One of the key USPs for the Dell Pro Plus Earbuds apart is their centralised management capability. Through the Dell Display and Peripheral Manager (DDPM), IT administrators can configure devices, push firmware updates, and oversee entire fleets of earbuds across teams.

Speaking at the launch, Mike Alessi, Senior Director of Global Product Planning & Launch for Collaboration Peripherals at Dell Technologies, said the product reflects Dell’s vision of workplace audio:

“The Dell Pro Plus Earbuds are designed to empower effortless communication, whether you’re commuting, working remotely or jumping into a quick Teams meeting. The future of workplace audio isn’t just about cutting-edge technology, it’s about empowering teams to connect, collaborate and thrive. With the Dell Pro Plus Earbuds, that future is here.”
