Red Bull has launched a nationwide competition to find Ireland’s best Tetris player, with the winner earning a place at the Red Bull Tetris World Finals in Dubai this December.

The competition invites students, gamers and long-time fans of the puzzle classic to test their skills. Participants will need to climb the national leaderboard and prove they’ve got what it takes to represent Ireland on the global stage.

Anyone aged 18 and over can take part by joining the online qualifiers now live at www.redbulltetris.com. The single-player mobile stage is open to all skill levels, from casual players to seasoned puzzle experts. Campus qualifiers are also being held at colleges around the country, giving students the chance to compete in person and secure a spot on the leaderboard.

The top scorers will move on to the Red Bull Tetris Irish National Final on Thursday, 6 November, at Zero Latency in Dublin. Known for its high-tech VR experiences, the venue will host one-on-one matches on desktop, where the best players will battle it out for the title of Ireland’s top Tetris player.

Whoever wins will go on to represent Ireland at the Red Bull Tetris World Finals in Dubai from 11 to 13 December. The event will take place at the Dubai Frame and the final match will be played live in the night sky, with over 2,000 drones forming a playable Tetris display.

Maya Rogers, President and CEO of The Tetris Company, said: “Our partnership with Red Bull celebrates what Tetris has stood for since the beginning — simple, joyful gameplay that connects people across the world. For over 40 years, Tetris has remained beloved through its ability to adapt and inspire.”

For Irish players, entries are open now at www.redbulltetris.com.
