At an official launch event in Barcelona today, OPPO has announced its latest flagship smartphones, the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro, both of which focus on improving imaging, performance, and battery life. The company says this new generation brings upgrades across the board, with a continued partnership with Hasselblad for the camera system and new efficiencies built into its ColorOS 16 software.

OPPO Find X9 Series | TheEffect.NetCamera System and Imaging

Both the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro feature OPPO’s new Hasselblad Master Camera System, combining updated sensors with image processing designed to produce more natural results.

OPPO Find X9 Series | TheEffect.NetThe Find X9 comes with three 50MP cameras: a main lens using the Sony LYT-808 sensor, an ultra-wide lens that can also handle macro shots, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with Sony’s LYT-600 sensor. There’s also a dedicated ‘True Color Camera’ that helps the phone adjust colour and light accuracy depending on the environment.

OPPO Find X9 Series | TheEffect.NetThe Find X9 Pro builds on this with a larger Sony LYT-828 sensor for its main lens and a 200MP Hasselblad-branded telephoto camera. The new sensor is designed to capture better detail in low light and more accurate highlights in bright conditions. The telephoto lens has a wide f/2.1 aperture and can focus as close as 10cm, making it useful for detailed zoom or macro photography.

Both phones also introduce OPPO’s LUMO Image Engine, which is designed to improve clarity and colour while cutting down on CPU and memory use. The result should be faster photo processing and less battery drain when taking high-resolution shots or 4K video. Users can also extract individual frames from videos as still images, thanks to 4K Motion Photo support.

Performance and Hardware

Powering both phones is MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9500 chipset, built on a 3nm process for higher performance and better energy efficiency. OPPO says the processor can deliver up to a third more power while using significantly less energy than the previous generation.

OPPO Find X9 Series | TheEffect.NetThe Find X9 and X9 Pro both use OPPO’s Trinity Engine to manage performance and battery efficiency dynamically, keeping gaming and multitasking stable without generating too much heat. Cooling is handled by a redesigned vapour chamber system.

Battery and Charging

Battery life is another major focus of this series. The Find X9 includes a 7,025mAh battery, while the Find X9 Pro increases that to 7,500mAh, which is the largest battery ever fitted to an OPPO flagship phone.

Both models support 80W wired SUPERVOOC charging, 50W wireless AIRVOOC, and 10W reverse wireless charging for topping up other devices. The batteries use OPPO’s third-generation Silicon-Carbon technology, which is designed to hold 80% of their original capacity even after five years of regular use.

Design and Display

The Find X9 Series keeps things sleek and simple, with a flat-edge aluminium frame and matte glass back to resist fingerprints. The displays have 120Hz refresh rates, 1.15mm bezels, and peak brightness of 3,600 nits, which should make them easy to view outdoors.

OPPO Find X9 Series | TheEffect.NetThe Find X9 is available in Titanium Grey and Space Black, while the Find X9 Pro comes in Silk White or Titanium Charcoal. Both phones have IP66, IP68, and IP69 protection ratings, meaning they can handle dust, water jets, and even short submersion without issue.

Software and AI Features

The phones run ColorOS 16, which focuses on smoother animations and better integration with other devices. It includes AI Mind Space for capturing on-screen content quickly, AI Recorder for automatically summarising voice notes, and AI Portrait Glow to improve low-light selfies.

OPPO Find X9 Series | TheEffect.NetCross-device support has also improved. O+ Connect now works with both Mac and Windows, letting users access phone files or even control their PC from the phone. Up to five apps can also be mirrored from the phone to a computer screen for multitasking.

OPPO Find X9 Series Irish Pricing & Availability

The OPPO Find X9 (12GB RAM + 512GB storage) is priced at €999, while the Find X9 Pro (16GB RAM + 512GB storage) will cost €1,299 in Ireland.
