Amazon has launched Amazon Family in Ireland, a feature that lets a Prime member share some of their benefits with one other adult in the same household at no extra cost.

The invited adult gets their own separate account. That means their own order history and their own recommendations, with no shared passwords or one-time codes involved. The invited person doesn’t need a Prime subscription of their own either.

What you can share

With the launch of the new sharing service for Amazon Prime members in Ireland, the invited adult gets three things:

  • Free Prime delivery on eligible items
  • Access to Prime deals, including those during Prime Day and Prime Big Deal Days
  • Prime Video streaming

The member holding the Prime subscription goes to ‘Your Account’, then ‘Your Amazon Family’, and sends an invitation to one other adult in their household. Once the invitation is accepted, the shared benefits are available straight away.

Alison Dunn, Country Manager at Amazon Ireland, said the feature is a simple way for Prime members to get more value from their membership, with two adults on separate accounts sharing one set of benefits.

Amazon Family Pricing & availability

Amazon Family is free for existing Prime members in Ireland. One adult in the household needs an active Prime membership, which costs €6.99 a month or €69.90 a year. Amazon says the feature is already available in the US, UK, Italy and Canada.
